There are hundreds of thousands of accounts on Twitter that claim to boost your ‘followers’ by ‘following back’, but how many stick? We will get into the quality of followers very soon (that’s a much longer post and one you will be very interested in, to prove, you have a valuable brand and following). That being said, I’ve personally noticed lots of trolls, wait that’s a bit harsh, semi-trolls (?), on Twitter.
Here at TweetBrander we decided to follow a few of these accounts to see if they ‘really’ follow through… we were surprised with the results. Several accounts would follow for a day or two. Others, never followed at all.
Some social media ‘experts’ seem to live and die by this faux-follower trend. We, on the other hand, are trying to shave them from our lists, since it was a test.
We’ve been using some free tools to find out who doesn’t follow back, here are a few that may be able to help you out:
[callout bg=”#ff2f2f2″ color=”#333″ padding=”25″]+ FriendOrFollow: This is a great site. It allows you to look at who isn’t following you back and offers different options to sort through those followers. Best of all, it is free.
+ TweepDash: Another great site, with a clean interface. This site instantly shows you: Who you follow & doesn’t follow back. Who follows you & you don’t follow. As well as, accounts that follow you and visa-versa. Also, free.
+ JustUnfollow: I’m new to this site but it has a lot of options for viewing your lists. It’s free too.

Here at TweetBrander we truly believe the best followers are REAL followers. So, we hope you share our site with your friends and some of our posts will help you understand why building your personal brand is so important!
